Making clean water accessible for everyone
It is said that India lives in villages where the majority of population dwells. But these villages are scattered across different geographical and climatic regions. While at some regions there is an abundance of water through the great rivers, there are many others which are rain-dependent and have acute shortage of water. In some places, for such a basic need as potable water, people especially women, have to walk for miles to fetch a pot of water. Generally, it is women and children who are affected the most by this problem. In addition to that, many of them have to cope up with water borne diseases due to the consumption of contaminated water.
We started 'Water Projects' understanding this basic need, where we construct bore wells at the identified locations, free of cost, to provide accessible water. So far, more than a hundred bore wells have been constructed, through Sharon Seva Ministries, for the financially weaker individuals and communities at large. Also, community water projects such as RO(Reverse Osmosis) purification plants have been taken up for providing drinkng water and livelihood opportunities to the local communities.
Yet there are thousands of villages without access to potable water. With your help, we'd like to continue our efforts to help such villages and communities.
