Micro-Enterprise and Skill development

Apart from serving through charity works, we also encourage men and women to become self-reliant through skill development and assist them to set up small businesses. By providing initial capital and required skills, these individuals, many of them being women, went on to run successful businesses such as

  • Dairy farming
  • Candle making
  • Paper plate making
  • Selling fresh vegetables on push cart and
  • Auto-Rickshaws, Tea-stalls

Some of our skill development programs include

  • Tailoring
  • DTP works - Graphic Designing, Screen printing, etc.
  • Computer training courses - video and audio editing/mixing, Training students for Tally software
  • Beautician course
  • Spoken English courses
  • Music training

Some women who have been provided with tailoring classes along with free sewing machines later established their own tailoring shops earning a decent amount of money. Through the community water projects, we were able to provide business opportunities for locals who were interested in running and maintaining the water purification plants.

We believe that providing people with sustainable livelihoods will have a very significant impact on their lives in ways charity alone cannot. We are glad to continue our efforts to make a positive change in their lives.
