Poor Widows' care

Poor Widows in India generally face peculiar situations. When a husband dies, the widow not only loses the breadwinner of the house but quite often she is stigmatized and subjected to social exclusion and discrimination due to prevailing superstitious beliefs in the society. Apart from facing social rejection, she also loses her job opportunities. She struggles to raise her kids by taking up meagre jobs to meet the ends.

These poor widows need special care and a helping hand to overcome such socio-economic barriers. Recognizing this, Sharon Seva Ministries started "Widows' Care" project through which identified poor widows are given proper care by providing monthly financial assistance, distribution of blankets and also empowering them with livelihood opportunities.
